Question by katlyncat: How do I stop my leather flip flops from squeaking when I walk?
I have new leather flip flops that make a noise when my foot slips in them while walking. I’ve tried the traditional lotion trick, and no luck. Can’t really use baby powder in them since they are flip flops. They are a rather heavy shoe (Reef Sandy). I think it’s too late to return them, so any suggestions? Thanks!

For a leather sandal, it is not bad. However, it is not the most comfortable thing in the world. Then again, what leather sandal is, I suppose? The leather is nice as it adds a bit more “dress-up” then a regular sandal. That said, I prefer comfort over “dress-up”. If you must have leather, buy this sandal. If you want more comfort, try the Reef Smoothy. You won’t be disappionted.

I ordered the brown color expecting a light brown leather sandal. I received a mud brown, almost maroon swede sandal that looked awful. The tag matched the style and color here, so I am not sure what the deal is.

I’m your typical Californian. Lived up north in Santa Cruz, CA for a while, and learned how to really wear shorts, t-shirts, and sandals. Now I’m addicted! I can’t walk around without sandals and shorts anymore, just doesn’t feel right.
Anyhow, I ordered these guys because my old pair was wearing out. (The strap actually broke while I was driving, super lame.)
These are pretty nice, casual sandals. Very lightweight, thin, and stylish. They don’t require any breaking in, they feel really comfortable at first wear. They aren’t stiff, and bend nicely with your foot.
I’m giving them 4 out of 5 stars because I actually prefer a slightly thicker sandal. This will probably wear out within 2 months of everyday usage. They are definitely worth purchasing if you want something simple and stylish to wear around.

Great leather flip flops! Bought them for my husband and he really likes them. Great look, great fit. I wear Reef’s Ginger flip flops and want a pair like this too!

Yea, its too late to return them if uve worn them. You cant really do anything to them, just take “lighter” steps. Like, dont step as hard down as you normally would….lol♥

I think it’s from mositure on your feet, so don’t put lotion on the bottoms of your feet. You know, when you lotion your entire foot (that’s what I am talking about). It’s just gonna happen if they get wet.
If the shoes are cute, and your toes are nice… who cares anyway?

I bought some Rainbows about a month ago and they used to have that problem. I just kept walking and walking in them and put up with the noise, and it has slowly gone away.
I know that really doesn’t help, but it’s worth trying. It could be that there is a tiny bit of air in them somewhere that needs to be slowly squeezed out. Just walk in them and it might go away. Good luck.
